Robs Stupid 68 Cougar Computerized Blinkers

June 10, 2001. I got tired of the blinkers mostly working, so I built a microprocessor board to replace the 4 relays and motorized sequencer box. It plugs in the existing harness. I used an Atmel AT90S1200 RISC CPU to control all the logic, so later I can make it do some cool stuff.

The microprocessor board installed in the car, but not tucked away.

Ive got the dash panel finished and the new Autometer gauges installed in it. Sitting next to the original panel. Notice the 3 indicators for the turn signals.

Some time later, I realized that the shortcut of wiring the front blinkers to the center rear blinkers mostly worked, but both of the front ones come on with the brake lights.
Had to add 2 more outputs for a total of 8, so the front ones can be controlled separately.

This is the circuit I used for my 68, of course you can click for bigger pic.

This is an easier circuit that would have been much easier to build.
